A very nice blue ground is unfortunately marred by the low quality of some of the canes and also by the mass of air bubbles within the dome. The canes do, however, clearly demonstrate some "typical" structures. The white central cane is a simple internal eight-point star with no central rod. The row around it is of complex canes in a blue outer casing. The central element of these canes is itself a complex set up of individual canes in a white casing. The next row uses a similar structure to the previous row's inner element. Finally the outer row has canes that are of an internal daisy pattern but with a large central cog or star element with its arms reaching into the daisy outline. Although the photo seems to show a dark purple colouring within the canes of the outer row, this is, in fact, a very translucent pink! At a glance, the twist canes appear to be simple grey threads outlined in white. But the central element is actually formed from three rods of dark yellow, mauve and light blue. |
