This excellent weight has a
butterfly hovering in a pink filigrana basket with a floating complex PY cane
balancing the design below the insect.
The basket is composed of 39 tightly
set lengths of filigrana in pink and white. The butterfly has a simple orange
body with green aventurine head and black antennae. The wings are formed from
flattened canes in shades of light blue and white with deep red inclusions, and
dark blue and white.
Clear glass indicates 1950s or
later. UV tests confirm Harland or later period (1971 to 1979).
