Within the garland of
pink-green-blue and blue-white-red canes, a pink fish with orange fins, tail
and mouth, and yellow-and-black eye, is set on a gently mottled green
ground.
The signature cane is quite blurred
in the photo and this is how it appears in reality. Set at the inner edge of
the lower pair of blue canes, it rests at an angle and is also beneath a part
of the dome that has a little undulation in the clear glass. Although the
overall quality of the weight is very good, small imperfections can be seen
when examined at close quarters. Distractions such as these can be found in
many of Paul Ysart's weights, but usually only when examined at very close
range.
Clear glass indicates 1950s or
later. UV tests confirm pre-Caithness.
