These "Spoke" weights each have a different emphasis. The first has equal focus on the twists and outer canes. The second shows a more delicate use of thin twists. The third uses twists which, because of the pale yellow outer elements, are overshadowed by the large outer canes.

The first and second examples have many air bubbles in the dome - in fact, the second, when viewed in profile, looks like a snowstorm! The third weight is of reasonable quality. Paul Ysart's Spoke Pattern weights from the 1930s are probably the earliest of this design and are generally of much better quality than these Ysart Brothers examples. However, there was a direct line of over 50 years from the Ysart Brothers period through to Perthshire Paperweights where the same basic design was produced and the quality reached superb levels.
