The "Clover" weight at Row 1, Col 3 has very clear glass and this suggests the 1950s period (UV tests show it is not later), but all other "Clover" weights I have seen appear to be 1930s period. The item at Row 1, Col 4 is one of a small number of weights that were sold through the Caithness Glass outlet - although made by Paul Ysart, these were never signed but had a CG label affixed. The two weights in Row 3 were given personally by Paul Ysart to the former owner during the "Highland" years (1977 to 1979). Both are typical of the good quality designs which were a regular production in those years. |
