This example is 7.5 cm (3 inch) diameter and 5 cm (2 inch) height. As seen in the image, it has very dark glass to the dome. When viewed at close quarters it is also clear that the dome contains many internal striations. Unlike the previous weight, this one does not have clearly defined rows of canes and is therefore a true closepack design. Under UV light it reacts consistently with items from the Ysart Brothers period (or earlier). |
|
As with the tables for the first weight, this item's canes are separated into main groups. First is a special cane, then those matching the known set owned by Vincent Ysart, followed by the remainder. Again the ordering within the tables is generally "simplest" to "most complex". Because of the dark glass and the striations, many of the cane images appear out of focus. It would be possible to provide an apparent sharpness by reducing the image size, however I have retained a standard size in order to show at least some detail of the internal structures. |

This cane has been seen a number of
weights and is another that is usually specifically associated with Salvador
Ysart. It is formed from cogs and short lengths of tube. The effect is that of a flower "portrait" cane. |

In the set below, matched to canes once owned by Vincent Ysart, numbers 02, 04 and 07 also appear in the equivalent table for the Mixed Concentric weight (as 03, 07 & 14 respectively). |
